Job Description
We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional services to K–12 students with special needs. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you’ll play a key role in planning, implementing, and supporting individualized student programs. This includes specialized instruction, tutorial support, and collaboration with general education staff to ensure student success.
Role: Special Education Teacher
Setting: Middle School – Intensive Academic Classroom (IAC)
Openings: 1
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Through April 2026 (with potential extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, regular school hours
Hours: 40 hours/week (includes unpaid lunch)
Supports students with significant cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skill delays
Students require full curricular modifications to access grade-level content
Instruction is highly individualized, with emphasis on intensive academic support
Designed instruction provided across all identified areas of need
Collaborative environment with SPED teams, related service providers, and general education staff ??
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid state teaching certificate as required by district/contract
Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
Preferred certifications:
Standard Elementary Teaching
Standard Secondary Teaching
Standard Special Teaching
LBS1 endorsement preferred
WA SPED license required
Current CPR (if applicable)
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
