We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional services to K–12 students with special needs. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you’ll play a key role in planning, implementing, and supporting individualized student programs. This includes specialized instruction, tutorial support, and collaboration with general education staff to ensure student success.

• Start Date: ASAP

• Contract Length: Through April 2026 (with potential extension)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, regular school hours

• Hours: 40 hours/week (includes unpaid lunch)

?? Classroom Details

Middle School IAC (Intensive Academic Classroom)

• Supports students with significant cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skill delays

• Students require full curricular modifications to access grade-level content

• Instruction is highly individualized, with emphasis on intensive academic support

• Designed instruction provided across all identified areas of need

• Collaborative environment with SPED teams, related service providers, and general education staff ??

?? Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by district/contract

• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• Preferred certifications:

  • Standard Elementary Teaching

  • Standard Secondary Teaching

  • Standard Special Teaching

• LBS1 endorsement preferred

• WA SPED license required

• Current CPR (if applicable)

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

• Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
